  • Washington State Trainer Joins APDT Board of Directors (December 12, 2016)
    Lisa R. McCluskey, BS, CPDT-KSA, CBCC-KA, has joined the board of directors of the Association of Professional Dog Trainers (APDT). An eighth position was recently added to the board and McCluskey was appointed to serve a three-year term that will begin Jan. 1, 2017.
  • 2016 APDT Annual Conference Experienced a 23% Increase in Attendance Rate (October 24, 2016)
    Practical content, various networking opportunities and a prime entertainment destination proved an irresistible combination as 707 professional trainers, speakers, exhibitors and guests converged on Las Vegas, Nev., Oct. 12-15, for the Association of Professional Dog Trainers' 23rd Annual Conference.

    Four APDT members committed to careers in the professional dog training industry and shelter programs received scholarships from the Association of Professional Dog Trainers and Dogwise during the APDT's 23rd Annual Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada.
  • APDT and Blue-9 Award Scholarship (September 13, 2016)
    Blue-9 and the Association of Professional Dog Trainers will recognize an APDT member committed to careers in the professional dog training and working dog industry by presenting the Blue-9 Working Dog scholarship from the APDT and Blue-9 during the APDT's 23rd Annual Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada.
  • APDT Launches Call for Speakers for 2017 Annual Conference (April 19, 2016)
    The Association of Professional Dog Trainers announced that the 24th Annual Educational Conference and Trade Show are now accepting speaker applications for the 2017 Annual Conference. The deadline to apply is Oct. 31, 2016.
  • Conference Keynote Speaker to Share Positive Training Skills and Techniques (February 15, 2016)
    Professional trick dog training is a rapidly growing part of the pet industry. Sara Carson and her side-kick, Hero, will share their positive training skills and techniques when she delivers the keynote address at the Association of Professional Dog Trainers' 23rd Annual Conference in Las Vegas, Nev.

    Heidi Meinzer, JD, CPDT-KSA, CNWI, was recently appointed to serve a one-year term on the APDT board of trustees.
  • Trainer from Oklahoma Joins APDT Board of Trustees (January 5, 2016)
    Khara Criswell, MA, CPDT-KSA, CNWI, and staff member of The Doggie Spot has joined the board of trustees of the Association of Professional Dog Trainers (APDT). Criswell was appointed to serve a three-year term as the sixth trustee member.

    Undergraduate and graduate academic research students and academicians are encouraged to apply for one of up to five $1500 grants being awarded through by the APDT Foundation in 2016.
